So we know that its great to participate in social media and the way we do that is through creating, publishing and sharing our own content but also by sharing relevant interesting articles by others.
The problem with sharing someone else’s content is that the minute someone clicks on that link, they are off on someone else’s website.
The solution is to share someone else’s content using a snip.ly link.
Sniply is a tool and broswer extension that allows you to overlay your own custom message onto any piece of content so that when someone click on that piece of content you are sharing, they will see at the bottom of that content a message from you. This will give you a chance to relate that content back to your product or service offering.
So here is a picture of what it looks like:
In this example I’ve shared an article about Content Marketing and when someone clicks on the article they will see as they scroll through my message “Need help with your content marketing?” and my call to action “Contact Me”. As you can see the service I offer is directly related to the topic of the article and someone reading the article who does need help with their content marketing might click on the link and contact me. Because you are sharing your sniply link on social media chances are that the person who clicked on the link is already connected with you in some way so knows you a little. They can be part of your linkedin network or be a facebook friend or fan of you page. Regardless this gives you the opportunity to share someone else’s content yet still drive traffic back to your site.
A more subtle and creative way of using sniply would be to create or promote your own complimentary content to the article you are sharing. So in this example the article “5 Big Ways Content Marketing Will Change In 2016” I could have created an article on my own blog with a form inviting people to download a checklist. My message would have been “Are you ready for content marketing in 2016?” and the call to action could be “Download Your Checklist” or “Download Content Marketing Audit”. I could send people to my page or blog post or I could send people directly to a form to capture their email address to get the download.
If you sold travel insurance for example you could share travel articles and have a call to action “Thinking of going to xyz country…” with a call to action “Don’t Forget To Buy Your Travel Insurance”.
Sniply integrates with Buffer app too so you can easily schedule your article sharing on you various social media platforms. Try it out !
